Heart Healthy Candied Nuts & Seeds

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cups raw walnuts

  • 2 cups raw pecans

  • 1 cup raw pumpkin seeds

  • 2/3 cup pure maple syrup

  • 1 tbsp cinnamon

  • 2 tsp sea salt or pink salt


DIRECTIONS:

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • Add all ingredients to a large mixing bowl and mix well to combine.

  • Spread mixture out evenly on a baking sheet and put into the oven for 20-30 minutes, or until lightly golden brown and fragrant.

  • Sprinkle with flaky salt (optional) and let cool completely before transferring to an airtight container.

  • Enjoy!


NOTES:

  • Feel free to play around and switch up the types of nuts and seeds. Almonds or cashews would be delish!

  • Use them to top salads, add to a charcuterie board or just snack on by themselves.

  • I like to put them into a cute jar as a gift to my neighbors for Christmas. They would make a yummy homemade hostess gift too!
