What Is A Full Moon Bath?

Today is the Full Hunter's Moon, and I thought it would be a perfect time to talk about why I take a moon bath surrounding the full moon every month. Have you ever noticed a change in your mood or how your body feels during the full moon? It's not in your head! The moon is energetically the strongest when it is full, and it tends to bring out our strongest emotions with it. Tension and anxiety can be high, and even though we may feel totally exhausted physically, it can be hard to get a good night's rest.

For the past couple of years, I have taken a moon bath every month on the full moon to promote deep relaxation and a better night's sleep. A full moon bath is a great way to take time to intentionally slow down, relax, connect with our body, and clear the mental clutter.

Benefits of a full moon bath include:

-calm the mind and ease anxiety

-promote better sleep

-improve skin hydration

-detox

-replenish lost minerals

-reduce stress

-soothe sore muscles

-decrease inflammation

-rest and relaxation

-recharge the ole batteries

-time to reflect, release and welcome closure

-boost immune system My Full Moon Bath Soak has simple ingredients from nature that provide all the benefits mentioned above. I designed it specifically with the full moon in mind, but it is wonderful to add to a bath anytime.

Epsom salt helps to relieve stress and anxiety, muscle pain, and inflammation. It also works to remove toxins from the body and replenish magnesium, which reduces skin inflammation and is essential for every system in the body.

Himalayan pink salt exfoliates the skin, detoxifies the body, stimulates circulation, relieves aches and pains, reduces fatigue and stress, replenishes magnesium, and reduces irritation from eczema and psoriasis.

Baking Soda cleanses and detoxifies the body to boost the immune system, and it helps to relieve symptoms of eczema and psoriasis.

Spirulina is rich in amino acids and antioxidants that will help to neutralize free radicals, decrease inflammation, and promote skin healing. It tones, hydrates, nourishes, and lightly detoxes the skin while encouraging cell renewal. Your skin will look radiant after soaking in it.

Lavender essential oil supports sleep, decreases stress and anxiety, helps with focus and concentration, and supports emotional balance.

Bergamot essential oil helps with insomnia, decreases stress, helps with joint issues and muscle cramps, helps to clear acne, oily skin, eczema and psoriasis, and supports emotional balance.

Full moons are the best time to take inventory of what no longer serves us, and make space for new and better things to come into our lives. It is a time to let go of unwanted habits, people or circumstances. Along with a moon bath, some great ways to unwind and declutter during a full moon include journaling, meditation, opening the windows to let the fresh air in, changing your bed sheets, sell or donate things you no longer use or need, clean your house, go for a walk outside, sip on herbal tea, or take a few minutes to stretch your body.

Fun tip for all my gardeners out there, the full moon is the best time to plant root crops and fruit trees. The energy of the full moon retreats deep into the earth and enhances the growth and vitality of roots, particularly of root veggies and fruit crops. Cool, right?

I encourage everyone to start writing down the date of the full moon on the calendar every month, and take note of how you feel physically and mentally on the days surrounding that date. Make time to relax and check in with yourself...and maybe plant some veggies.
